Job summary

SBR Events Group in Illinois, a catering and restaurant division, seeks a Bookkeeper I to handle daily accounting tasks including invoicing, cash receipts, and entry into Caterease and QuickBooks. This entry-level role provides hands-on experience in accounts receivable and routine month-end support within a fast-paced operation.

You will post payments, monitor aging, assist with vendor payments, and maintain filing and internal controls under supervision of the Accounting Director.

Qualifications

• Entry-level accounting position with foundational knowledge in bookkeeping.
• Ability to post client invoices and process payments with accuracy.
• Familiarity with standard accounting software and data entry practices.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and distribute client invoices from event orders and contracts.
• Post receivables for catering, restaurant, and sauce divisions.
• Deposit and post cash receipts in Caterease and QuickBooks.
• Record adjustments, credit memos, and tip adjustments as needed.
• Monitor aging reports and flag past-due balances for follow-up.
• Assist with monthly revenue reconciliations under supervision.
• Support AP with weekly vendor payment processes and W-9 reviews.
