Job summary

SpaceX is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Technician to implement and maintain regulatory requirements (OSHA, RCRA, EPA, DOT) and work with engineers daily to support the Vandenberg launch facility's safety and environmental goals.

Responsibilities include hazardous waste handling, spill prevention, site safety surveys, and training; the role requires hands-on safety oversight and strong communication with technicians and engineers at SpaceX.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency; 2+ years in environmental, health and safety program.
• 2+ years of experience implementing and overseeing aspects related to an environmental, health and safety program.
• Experience managing hazardous waste storage and satellite accumulation areas.
• Experience in construction/industrial environments and with emergency response.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for environmental compliance with regulations including AQMD, EPA/RCRA, DOT and CUPA.
• Perform tasks related to RCRA regulatory hazardous waste handling, storage and disposal requirements.
• Coordinate waste shipments with EHS supervisor and waste disposal contractor.
• Perform spill prevention and SPCC implementation.
• Assist in environmental training programs and emergency response drills.
• Ensure that launch-related safety requirements are adhered to on the shop floor.
