Job summary

SpaceX is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Technician at the Vandenberg facility to implement and maintain regulatory requirements under OSHA, RCRA, EPA and DOT. The role partners with engineers and technicians to sustain safety and environmental objectives for launch operations.

Responsibilities include waste management, spill response, training, and ensuring proper labeling, storage, and inspections of hazardous materials while supporting long-term EHS initiatives and site safety

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency
• 2+ years of experience implementing and overseeing environmental, health and safety programs.
• Experience in hazardous waste storage and satellite accumulation areas is preferred.
• Experience boots-on-the-ground safety oversight and policy development.

Responsibilities

• Ensure regulatory compliance with AQMD, EPA/RCRA, DOT and CUPA.
• Manage hazardous waste handling, storage and logs per regulations.
• Coordinate waste shipments with EHS supervisor and contractors.
• Perform spill prevention measures and SPCC plan implementation.
• Conduct safety surveys and train employees on PPE and safe practices.
