Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a systems engineer with deep expertise in fluids/piping for New Glenn launch pad infrastructure. You will own subsystem requirements across the SE lifecycle, coordinating with piping designers and cross‑functional teams to drive design through verification.

You will collaborate with controls, avionics, and structural SEs, managing test activations and milestone reviews while traveling to test sites as needed.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on systems or design engineering experience with a focus on fluid systems
  • Knowledge of piping system design, routing, sizing, and material selection
  • Familiarity with additional disciplines to collaborate across subsystem boundaries
  • B.S. degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Aerospace, or related field
  • Strong written and verbal communication; travel up to 25% as needed

Responsibilities

  • Co-lead definition of fluid subsystem solutions for the next‑gen Launch Pad
  • Serve as SE focal point for fluid/piping subsystems with designers on routing and material choices
  • Own verification planning and coordination for fluid systems across controls and software interfaces
  • Plan and coordinate subsystem test/activation with Operations, especially hydrogen and high‑pressure gas
  • Flag emergent risks in fluid compatibility, pressure ratings, and cross‑discipline integration
  • Support milestone design reviews with fluids‑specific rigor alongside other SEs
