Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a systems engineer focused on fluid/piping subsystems to own requirements for the launch pad infrastructure, including high‑pressure gas and cryogenic systems. You will collaborate with piping designers and contribute to CONOPS, ICD maintenance, and interface with propulsion and operations teams.

The role requires coordination across controls, software, and avionics, with travel up to 25% to test sites.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years hands-on systems or design engineering with a fluids focus.
  • Piping design, gas, hydraulic, or cryogenic systems experience.
  • Ability to collaborate across controls, software, avionics, electrical, or structures.
  • BS in Mechanical, Chemical, Aerospace Engineering or related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; able to translate fluid complexity.

Responsibilities

  • Co-lead fluid subsystem solutions for next-generation Launch Pad.
  • Act as SE focal point for fluid subsystems; work with routing, sizing, materials, pressure/flow.
  • Own verification planning and coordinate implications for controls and software.
  • Plan subsystem tests and startups with Operations, especially around hydrogen and high-pressure gases.
  • Flag risks related to fluid compatibility, pressure ratings, and cross-discipline integration.
  • Support milestone design reviews with fluids-focused rigor alongside other SEs.
