Job summary

Blue Origin in Space Coast, Florida, is seeking a Launch Ops Manufacturing Engineer to drive industrialization of new products and design-for-manufacturability improvements. You will translate engineering requirements into repeatable processes and collaborate across engineering, quality, supply chain, and production teams to accelerate space vehicle assembly.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Experience levels indicating progression: 3+ Level II, 5+ Level III, 8+ SR Level Engineer.
  • 1+ years of experience creating English work instructions.
  • Must be able to work second shift and have flexibility to move shifts; extended hours may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Support the industrialization of new products in areas such as solar arrays, integration and test, avionics, and structures.
  • Contribute to design for manufacturability (DFM), design for assembly (DFA), design for test (DFT).
  • Translate engineering requirements into robust manufacturing processes that support Blue Origin’s mission.
  • Collaborate with design engineering, quality assurance, supply chain, and production teams to accelerate building a road to space.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, process flow diagrams, tool designs, and inspection plans.
  • Evaluate and implement new manufacturing technologies and methods (e.g., composites, precision machining, additive manufacturing, advanced assembly).
  • Support root cause analysis of process or product non‑conformances; develop and implement corrective actions that enhance reliability and performance.
  • Ensure all work aligns with applicable quality and safety standards (AS9100, ISO 9001).
  • Participate in process FMEAs, risk assessments, and validation of new production lines and equipment.
  • Identify and complete opportunities for efficiency gains and cost reduction, optimizing our ability to achieve our mission at scale.
  • Gain expertise in at least one key specialty area (solar arrays, integration and test, build flow/sequencing, avionics, structures, etc.)
