Job summary

Blue Origin, Space Coast, FL, seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to design and implement efficient manufacturing systems, ensure quality control, and optimize logistics for Production/Operations. You will work with design, quality, supply chain, and production teams to translate requirements into robust processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university.
• 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or process engineering role.
• 1+ years of experience creating English work instructions.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
• Must be able to work second shift and have flexibility to move shifts as needed.

Responsibilities

• Support the industrialization of new tank assemblies including welding, inspection, proof test, surface coatings, and integration.
• Contribute to design for manufacturability (DFM), design for assembly (DFA), design for test (DFT).
• Translate engineering requirements into robust, repeatable manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate with design engineering, quality assurance, supply chain, and production teams to accelerate building a road to space.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, including work instructions and process flow diagrams.
• Evaluate and implement new manufacturing technologies and methods (e.g., composites, precision machining, additive manufacturing, advanced assembly).
• Support root cause analysis of process or product non-conformances; develop corrective actions to enhance reliability and performance.
• Ensure work aligns with quality and safety standards (AS9100, ISO 9001).
• Participate in process FMEAs, risk assessments, and validation of new production lines and equipment.
• Identify opportunities for efficiency gains and cost reduction.
