The Launch Flight Operations Specialist provides day-of-launch planning, rehearsal, and execution of launch and initialization activities for assigned missions. Missions could be either NRO or other OSL sponsored programs. LFOS is accountable for the overall coordination, integration, and execution of NOPS and day-of-launch mission requirements. This role requires close coordination with the SV Program, LV service contractor, launch base, Range, and other associated organizations. Duties include project and mission requirements, technical reviews, mission integration planning, coordination/support, Range coordination, readiness review preparation, technical procedure coordination, anomaly resolution, integration of mission requirements into infrastructure, mission/DOL support, and Lessons Learned adjudication. LFOS develops, updates, and standardizes Day-of-Launch (DoL) processes, procedures, and products used by OSL launch personnel. Coordination with Range, launch vehicle contractor, and SMC program office on DoL ConOps changes and reflecting these in OSL Mission Manager launch day preparations is essential. Mission Control Operations support includes planning, integration, and operational support for NRO launch day and rehearsal operations, establishing the configuration of a mission control network supporting OSL operations at NOPS, CCAFS, and VAFB. Operations include facility verification, training simulations, network simulations, crew exercises, mission dress rehearsals, troubleshooting, and launch operations. The mission control network encompasses communications links within the range and between NOPS/AFSCN and inter-range facilities.
LFOS tasks include:• Providing technical, programmatic, planning, and execution support for NRO program readiness exercises• Assisting in the development of launch support concepts• Supporting new user operations integration• Providing independent assessment of OSL readiness• Offering on-console technical support• Tracking actions and lessons learned post-events• Maintaining operational support metrics• Assessing impacts of upgrades and modifications• Providing feedback to management• Supporting DoL integration and planning• Developing and maintaining Integrated Mission Scripts and supporting documentation• Coordinating range support and network validation at launch sites• Ensuring the availability of necessary infrastructure throughout launch campaigns.
Level I (LFOS-1): Entry-level professional with working knowledge of space launch systems. Must develop briefings and convey information clearly. Requires all G2 qualifications. Experience: 0 years.
Level II (LFOS-2): Mid-level professional with proven knowledge of launch systems and processes. Capable of planning and executing launch operations. Must possess G2 qualifications plus additional experience: at least 2 years, extensive knowledge of NRO/OSL policies, and understanding of launch interfaces and operations.
Level III (LFOS-3): Senior professional with proven knowledge and experience. Capable of developing briefings, supporting mission integration, and providing guidance. Must possess G3 qualifications, at least 5 years of experience, and demonstrated ability to coordinate with government agencies and mission partners. Experience in risk assessments, launch planning, and execution is required.
Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI with a CI polygraph.

The pay range is $100,000 to $210,000 annually, with variations based on experience, knowledge, and other factors. MTSI offers comprehensive benefits including medical, financial, and other perks.
