VTG is seeking a Launch Flight Operations Specialist in Los Angeles, CA.
The Launch Flight Operations Specialist is responsible for planning, rehearsing, and executing launch activities for assigned missions, which may include NRO or other OSL-sponsored programs. The role involves coordinating with various agencies and contractors, managing mission requirements, technical reviews, mission integration, range coordination, readiness reviews, anomaly resolution, and supporting launch operations. The specialist develops and updates DoL processes and procedures, coordinates with range and program offices, and supports mission control operations at NOPS, CCAFS, and VAFB. Tasks include supporting readiness exercises, developing rehearsal scenarios, integrating new operations, assessing operational readiness, providing technical support, and maintaining operational metrics.
The position requires a current TS/SCI with Poly clearance. Experience levels can substitute for education as follows:
The Level I LFOS is an entry-level role requiring knowledge of space launch systems and processes, capable of developing briefings and supporting launch activities. Level II is mid-level, requiring proven knowledge, the ability to develop briefings, and plan launch operations, with additional qualifications including extensive knowledge of NRO/OSL policies and procedures. Level III is senior-level, requiring proven experience, ability to communicate effectively with high-level leadership, and expertise in launch planning and execution, including mission interface verification and risk management.
Pay range: $150,000 - $210,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
