Job summary

Stoke Space is seeking an Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Engineer for the Cape Canaveral launch complex. You will support commissioning and operate a new launch pad, oversee EHS across Stoke’s Florida sites, and help establish safety, regulatory compliance, and environmental stewardship across operations.

You will join a small, skilled team, stay focused in a fast-paced environment, and help elevate safety culture while ensuring adherence to policies, procedures, and federal requirements.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience EH&S in new site construction and operations for high-performance applications
• Experience developing and implementing system safety and occupational safety programs
• Experience leading EHS programs including OSHA, fall protection, lockout/tagout, confined space, hot work, hazmat, and waste streams
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Willing to relocate to Cape Canaveral, FL
• OSHA 30 Hour Certified / OSHA 511/510 certifications

Responsibilities

• Support overall EHS strategy for facilities and site operations in launch site development
• Maintain and enforce EHS policies, procedures, and protocols
• Ensure design, build, and operations comply with local, state, and federal regulations
• Complete system safety hazard analyses and job hazard assessments
• Review and approve launch complex hazardous procedures
• Support anomaly investigations, response, and closure
• Implement engineering controls to reduce risk
• Maintain environmental and safety management systems
• Investigate, document, and resolve workplace incidents
• Establish and maintain hazard clear areas
• Manage hazardous and non-hazardous waste streams
• Maintain SPCC, wastewater permits, and LMPs
• Support Environmental Baseline Surveys, Biological Assessments, and Environmental Assessments
• Coordinate with agencies like FDEP, FAA, NASA
• Develop contractor and staff training
• Maintain EHS throughout operations
• Cultivate a strong safety culture at the launch site
