Job summary

SpaceX is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Engineer to support Cape Canaveral infrastructure development. You will provide expert EHS guidance, ensure regulatory compliance, and work closely with launch teams to manage complex safety reviews and hazard controls.

The role emphasizes hands-on safety program development, incident investigations, and ongoing collaboration with engineers to meet regulatory requirements and protect personnel and the environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required.
• 5+ years of experience in EHS design, development, and operational oversight.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain compliance with OSHA, NFPA, NIOSH and other regulations.
• Collaborate with leadership to complete job hazard assessments and implement policies.
• Monitor employee exposure to hazards and recommend remedial actions.
• Perform safety reviews with launch engineers and technician teams.
• Lead or assist incident investigations including root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain safety programs including OSHA standards, cryogenics, high pressure systems, confined space, fall protection, lock-out/tag-out, cranes and rigging.
• Inspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment for hazards and regulatory compliance.
• Develop, implement, and maintain safety contingency plans.
