Job summary

The following position is available for the remainder of the 2026-2027 school year.

Latchkey Childcare Staff at the Early Childhood Center, hired through Genesee Consultant Services, with year-round hours and a $15.00 per hour salary.

Hours are Monday through Friday, 6:45 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (2 to 8 hours, flexible), based on child count, with responsibilities including supervising children and executing daily activities.

Qualifications

• Prefer Michigan Licensed Day Care facility or comparable school program experience.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Current CPR and first aid certification or willingness to be trained.
• Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to work with children and coworkers.

Responsibilities

• Implement daily activities with children as assigned by supervisor.
• Supervise children and ensure safety at all times.
• Communicate with Program Supervisor, Program Coordinator, and School Principal.

POSITION TYPE: Year-Round

HOURS: Monday - Friday 6:45 a.m.-5:30 p.m. (2 to 8 hours, flexible) (According to child count)

SALARY: $15.00 per hour

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Preferable experience in a Michigan Licensed Day Care facility or comparable school program
• Be at least 18 years of age
• Have current certification in Infant, Child, and Adult CPR and first aid or be willing to be trained
• Demonstrated organizational skills
• Possess and demonstrate ability to work harmoniously with children and co-workers
• Demonstrated ability to be flexible in work environments and hours
• Meet state standards for passing criminal record checks and fingerprinting requirements for Child Care Workers and Department of Human Services clearance
• Meet the qualifications standards of Dept. of Human Services (Revised: Section 2 of 1973 PA 116) for caregiver

The successful candidate will report to the Program Supervisor under whose direction will:

• Implement day to day designated activities with children
• Supervise children
• Communicate with Program Supervisor, Program Coordinator, and School Principal
