Job summary

Deel is seeking a Team Lead, Engineering to steer a cross-functional team of engineers and drive scalable, innovative solutions for our global payroll/HR platform. You will balance hands-on coding with strategic leadership, shaping technical direction and mentoring a diverse group of engineers.

In this role, you’ll design robust systems, advocate best practices in testing and deployment, and partner with product and design to deliver exceptional user experiences across markets.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering fundamentals: OOP, scalable design, clean code.
• Strong SQL skills: complex queries, performance.
• Experience with APIs and distributed systems.
• Strong problem-solving across code, data, and systems.
• Production experience: incidents, debugging, escalations.

Responsibilities

• Lead a cross-functional engineering team to deliver scalable products.
