Job summary

Maersk is seeking an experienced Last Mile Site Leader/Area Manager in the United States to coordinate on-site operations for last mile delivery, liaise with haulers and clients, and ensure procedures are followed by delivery teams.

Responsibilities include onboarding haulers, managing vendor partnerships, resolving delivery issues, and maintaining operational metrics and customer service scores. A strong emphasis on communication and problem solving is required.

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication abilities are essential.
• Excellent mathematical skills, including calculating discounts, interest, and volumes.
• Ability to analyze technical and scientific information relevant to the business.
• Strong problem solving and reasoning abilities to devise creative solutions.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate flow of communication between haulers, delivery teams, call center and client management.
• Provide on-site presence to ensure procedures are followed by drivers and teams.
• Oversee recruiting, processing and performance of haulers.
• Develop and maintain relations with vendors to support operations.
• Ensure follow-up on shipping discrepancies and damaged goods; interface with customers for in-home delivery.
• Maintain monthly operation reports with statistics and customer service scores.
