Job summary

Maersk is seeking an Assistant Manager in Joplin, MO for Last Mile operations. You will supervise hourly on-site staff, dispatch trucks, maintain vendor relations, and ensure on-time delivery while upholding safety and quality standards.

The role requires 5+ years in logistics or related field, a Bachelor's degree preferred, and strong communication and problem-solving skills. Weekend availability is required and the team focuses on customer service excellence and efficient network execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in Logistics, Supply Chain or related field.
• Experience supervising direct reports/performance reviews.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains relations with vendors, stores, and independent contractors.
• Oversees on-site staff in data entry, customer service, order processing and delivery.
• Dispatches trucks using GPS technology and oversees in-home delivery.
• Maintains monthly operating reports including statistics and customer service scores.
• Supervises Customer Service Representatives and Routers; ensures attendance and punctuality.
• Addresses complaints and resolves problems following company policies.
