Job summary

Maersk is seeking an Assistant Manager in Joplin, MO for Last Mile operations. You will supervise hourly on-site staff, dispatch trucks, maintain vendor relations, and ensure on-time delivery while upholding safety and quality standards.

The role requires 5+ years in logistics or related field, a Bachelor's degree preferred, and strong communication and problem-solving skills. Weekend availability is required and the team focuses on customer service excellence and efficient network execution.

Essential Functions

• Develops and maintains relations with vendors, stores, independent contractors.
• Ensures follow up on shipping discrepancies, damaged goods and in-home damage claims.
• Dispatches trucks using GPS technology.
• Oversees in-home delivery for customers.
• Maintains monthly operating reports that include statistics and customer service scores.
• Oversees Customer Service Representatives and Routers.
• Attendance and Punctuality are essential functions of the job.
• Directly supervises hourly on-site staff who handle day-to-day operations in data entry, customer service, order processing and delivery.
• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
• Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; rewarding and providing direction employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Pay Range: $65,000-$68,000 per year *The above stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary range for the position. The Company may adjust this range in light of prevailing market conditions and other factors such as location. The Company will work directly with the selected candidate(s) on the final starting salary in accordance with all applicable laws.
