Job summary

Maersk Ground Freight is seeking an Assistant Manager in Joplin, MO to supervise on-site staff, coordinate deliveries, and ensure customer satisfaction. The role emphasizes Last Mile experience and weekend availability, with responsibility for dispatch, reporting, and vendor relations in a busy logistics operation.

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree preference and 5+ years in logistics or related fields, along with strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in Logistics, Supply Chain or related field.
• Good problem-solving and time management skills.
• Experience in a supervisor role including performance reviews of direct reports.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains relations with vendors, stores, independent contractors.
• Ensures follow up on shipping discrepancies, damaged goods and in-home damage claims.
• Dispatches trucks using GPS technology.
• Oversees in-home delivery for customers.
• Maintains monthly operating reports that include statistics and customer service scores.
• Oversees Customer Service Representatives and Routers.
• Directly supervises hourly on-site staff handling data entry, customer service, order processing and delivery.
