Job summary

Maersk Ground Freight (MGF) seeks an Assistant Manager in Joplin, MO with strong Last Mile experience and weekend availability. You will supervise hourly on-site staff, coordinate delivery operations, and maintain vendor and contractor relationships to ensure on-time performance and service quality.

The role requires 5+ years in logistics or related fields, strong problem-solving and communication skills, and a commitment to safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Logistics, Supply Chain or Related Field.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Good time management skills.
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in a Supervisor role including performance reviews of direct reports.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains relations with vendors, stores, independent contractors.
• Ensures follow up on shipping discrepancies, damaged goods and in-home damage claims.
• Dispatches trucks using GPS technology.
• Oversees in-home delivery for customers.
• Maintains monthly operating reports that include statistics and customer service scores.
• Oversees Customer Service Representatives and Routers.
• Attendance and Punctuality are essential functions of the job.
• Directly supervises hourly on-site staff who handle day-to-day operations in data entry, customer service, order processing and delivery.
• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
• Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; rewarding and providing direction employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
