Job summary

The Nassal Company is seeking a Laser Operator to efficiently run CNC laser cutting systems in a metal fabrication shop in Orlando, FL. You will load programs, verify requirements, and inspect parts to ensure quality and dimensional accuracy while maintaining production records.

Focus on safety, material handling, and timely delivery of cut components. This role supports continuous improvement and collaborates with fabrication teams to meet project schedules.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 2 years of laser cutting or CNC machine operation experience preferred.
  • Experience in a metal fabrication or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and production documentation.
  • Familiarity with steel, stainless steel, and aluminum processing.
  • Knowledge of nesting software and CNC controls preferred.
  • Understanding of QA/QC procedures and OSHA safety requirements.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.

Responsibilities

  • Follow safety regulations, PPE requirements, and shop procedures.
  • Set up and operate CNC laser cutting systems.

  • Execute daily machine maintenance, cleaning, and preventive maintenance checks.
  • Identify tooling, gas, or equipment issues and coordinate corrective actions.
  • Support fabrication teams by ensuring accurate and timely delivery of cut components.
  • Maintain production records and quality inspection documentation.
  • Follow all safety procedures regarding laser operations and material handling.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Job description

The Laser Operator is responsible for operating CNC laser cutting equipment to manufacture precision metal components for fabrication and production projects.

This role ensures materials are processed accurately, efficiently, and safely while supporting departmental production goals, quality standards, and project schedules

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Follow all safety regulations, PPE requirements, and shop procedures.
  • Set up and operate CNC laser cutting systems.
  • Load laser programs and verify production requirements.
  • Review shop drawings, digital work orders, material specifications, and nesting layouts.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Metal fabrication shop environment with exposure to noise, dust, heat, and moving machinery.
  • Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • May be required to work extended hours or weekends depending on project needs.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to lift, sand, mask, and move materials up to 30 lbs. as needed.
  • Comfortable standing, bending, and performing repetitive tasks for extended periods.
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to safely use tools and materials.
  • Must maintain continuous awareness of hazards and enforce safety practices.
