Job summary

Nassal seeks a skilled Cabinet Grade Carpenter to build high-quality cabinetry and custom wood components within the Carpentry Department in Orlando. You will read blueprints and project specs to ensure builds meet exact standards.

  • Build cabinetry and woodworking projects per drawings and production needs.
  • Read blueprints, shop drawings, specs, and cut lists.
  • Measure, cut, assemble, fit, sand, and finish wood components.
  • Operate saws, planers, routers, drill presses safely.
  • Inspect work for fit, finish, and design compliance.
  • Coordinate with leads and other departments to meet deadlines.

Job description

The Cabinet Grade Carpenter is responsible for constructing, assembling, fitting, and finishing high-quality cabinetry, custom wood components, furniture elements, scenic structures, and specialty woodworking projects within the Carpentry Department.

This role supports production by accurately reading blueprints, shop drawings, and project specifications, then building work to required quality standards.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Follow all safety regulations, PPE requirements, and shop procedures.
  • Build cabinetry and other woodworking-related projects according to shop drawings, blueprints, and production requirements.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, project specifications, cut lists, and written/verbal work instructions.
  • Measure, cut, assemble, fit, sand, and finish wood components using standard and precision tools.
  • Use measurement tools such as tape measures, calipers, levels, and related layout tools.
  • Operate woodworking machinery such as saws, planers, routers, drill presses, and related shop equipment safely and effectively.
  • Inspect work throughout the construction process to ensure fit, finish, quality, and adherence to design standards.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas while following shop procedures, PPE requirements, and safety standards.
  • Coordinate with leads, foremen, CNC, and other departments to support production deadlines.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Cabinet-grade carpentry skills required.
  • Ability to read blueprints/shop drawings is required.
  • Prior professional woodworking/cabinetry experience required.
  • Ability to work independently and communicate with a team.
  • Knowledge of various wood species.
  • Ability to use measurement tools including tape measures, calipers, and levels.
  • Advanced knowledge of hand tools and woodworking machinery preferred.
  • Strong commitment to quality, safety, and production deadlines.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Fabrication environment with exposure to dust, noise, and odors.
  • Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • May be required to work extended hours or weekends depending on project needs.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to lift, sand, mask, and move materials up to 30 lbs. as needed.
  • Comfortable standing, bending, and performing repetitive tasks for extended periods.
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to safely use tools and materials.
  • Must maintain continuous awareness of hazards and enforce safety practices.
