Job summary

Nassal is seeking an Aluminum Welder/Fabricator to produce high‑quality welds and assemblies for its creative and structural fabrication projects. The role requires MIG, TIG, and Stick welding across steel, aluminum, and stainless steel while adhering to safety standards.

You will read blueprints, operate fabrication equipment, and collaborate with teammates to meet production timelines and project specifications.

Qualifications

  • Ability to read blueprints and fabrication drawings.
  • Commitment to safety procedures and quality control standards.
  • Experience welding ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
  • Proficiency with multiple welding processes (MIG/TIG/Stick).
  • Familiarity with fabrication equipment (shear, ironworker, drill press, brake press).

Responsibilities

  • Follow all safety regulations and wear PPE.
  • Read blueprints and cut lists accurately.
  • Perform MIG, TIG, and Stick welding on steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.
  • Operate fabrication machinery (shears, brake presses, ironworkers, drill presses).
  • Assemble and weld components per design specifications and tolerances.
  • Inspect work for quality and compliance with codes.
  • Maintain organized workstations and tools.
  • Collaborate with team to meet production goals and timelines.
  • Participate in ongoing training and certifications.

Job description

The Aluminum Welder/Fabricator plays a critical role in bringing Nassal’s creative and structural fabrication projects to life.

This position focuses on producing high-quality welds and assemblies that meet demanding design and safety standards. Key Responsibilities:
  • Follow all company safety regulations and wear appropriate PPE at all times.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and cut lists accurately.
  • Perform MIG, TIG, and Stick welding on various metals, including steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.
  • Operate fabrication machinery such as shears, brake presses, ironworkers, and drill presses.
  • Prepare, assemble, fit, and weld components according to design specifications and tolerances.
  • Inspect work for accuracy, quality, and compliance with project codes and standards.
  • Maintain and organize workstations, equipment, and tools.
  • Collaborate with peers, leads, and supervisors to meet production goals and project timelines.
  • Participate in ongoing training to build technical proficiency and industry certifications.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Skill Level and Expectations:
  • Perform complex fabrication and welding tasks independently.
  • Read and apply technical drawings, layouts, and specifications.
  • Perform TIG welding on aluminum with a focus on clean, visually appealing welds.
  • Prepare aluminum materials, including cutting, cleaning, and fitting.
  • Maintain tight tolerances and alignment in assemblies.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in multiple welding processes and materials.
  • Troubleshoot issues in fabrication setups and ensure quality throughout production.
Qualifications:
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, tape measures, and fabrication drawings.
  • Familiarity with fabrication equipment (shear, grinders, saws, ironworker, drill press, brake press, etc.).
  • Steel welding experience (MIG required; TIG preferred).
  • Experience working with structural steel and fabrication tools.
  • Aluminum welding experience (TIG required).
  • Strong understanding of aluminum properties and fabrication techniques.
  • Forklift and overhead hoist operation experience a plus.
  • Strong understanding of safety procedures and quality control standards.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:
  • Shop and fabrication environment with exposure to dust, heat, noise, and odors.
  • Must wear appropriate PPE at all times.
  • Requires standing, bending, and lifting up to 30 lbs. regularly.
  • May require overtime or weekend work based on project needs.
