Job summary

Serrmi Products in Kansas is seeking a skilled Laser Operator to operate CNC laser cutting equipment and other fabrication machinery for high-quality metal components. This role requires precision, blueprint reading, and strong knowledge of manufacturing processes within a busy shop floor.

The successful candidate will work on the weekend shift (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) 6am–6:30pm, perform setup, programming tweaks, quality inspections, and collaborate with the team to meet production targets

Qualifications

  • Proven experience with CNC laser cutting, CNC programming, and machining operations.
  • Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, welding, stamping, and mechanical assembly.
  • Familiarity with GD&T principles for precise measurements.
  • Ability to operate various fabrication tools including presses, CNC mills/lathes, plasma cutters, EDM, and welding equipment.
  • Mechanical knowledge related to tooling setup, calibration, and maintenance.
  • Strong blueprint reading skills and experience with quality inspection using precision instruments.
  • Basic math skills for measurements and calculations in machining tasks.
  • Ability to work safely around heavy machinery including forklifts and cranes.
  • Excellent problem-solving and attention to detail in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Read blueprints and work orders to determine machining requirements.
  • Adjust CNC programming and optimize machine parameters for precision cuts.
  • Use tools like press brakes, CNC mills/lathes, plasma cutters, EDM, and welding equipment.
  • Conduct quality inspections using micrometers, calipers and other precision instruments.
  • Maintain tooling setup and perform routine machine maintenance.
  • Operate forklifts and cranes safely for material handling.
  • Follow safety protocols and keep a clean, organized work area.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines on fabrication projects.

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Laser Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating CNC laser cutting equipment and other fabrication machinery to produce high-quality metal components. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, blueprint reading, and quality inspection. The Laser Operator will play a vital part in ensuring efficient production and adherence to safety standards within a dynamic industrial environment. This is for our weekend shift Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Duties
  • Set up and operate CNC laser cutting machines, including programming and troubleshooting to ensure accurate cuts according to specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to determine machining requirements.
  • Perform CNC programming adjustments and optimize machine parameters for precision cutting.
  • Utilize various fabrication tools such as press brake machines, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, stamping presses, plasma cutters, electrical discharge machining (EDM), and welding equipment as needed.
  • Conduct quality inspections using micrometers, calipers, precision measuring instruments, and other tools to verify dimensions and tolerances.
  • Maintain proper tooling setup and perform routine maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal performance.
  • Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and cranes safely within the manufacturing environment.
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work area to promote a safe workplace.
  • Collaborate with team members on assembly processes and fabrication projects to meet production deadlines.

  • Ability to work safely around heavy machinery including forklifts and cranes.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
