Job description

Laser Operator – 1st Shift

Shift: Monday - Thursday 6:00am-4:30pm

Overall Responsibility

• Set-up/run laser according to programs and preset parameters.
• Make necessary adjustments to parameters for best edge quality and cut speed.
• Operate state-of-the-art Amada Fiber Laser with thin-to-thick material processing without additional machine setup.
• Check quality of product machined and notify supervisor of process issues.

Key Job Duties (not Exhaustive)

• Review cutting program and select correct raw material.
• Load correct raw material using overhead crane and/or forklift.
• Monitor cutting performance and make appropriate operator-level adjustments as required.
• Perform operator-level maintenance as needed, daily and as scheduled.
• Maintain proper documentation required for production and maintenance.
• Remove parts from laser table after cutting is complete.
• Inspect and perform final cleanup of parts as needed.
• Continuously maintain an exceptionally clean/organized work area.
• Assist in other areas of the metal prep department as needed.
• Assist the maintenance department with scheduled maintenance/repairs as needed.
• Able to use measuring equipment: tape measure and micrometer.
• Understand mathematics to verify job requirements and specifications.
• Hold high quality standards to meet customer specifications.
• Follow company policy and standards.
• Able to operate forklifts and hoists.
• Keep work centers clean and orderly.
• Able to take and follow directives.
