Job summary

TRUMPF Inc. is seeking an Applications Engineer to showcase our laser cutting, bending and welding capabilities. The role supports customers and the sales network during purchasing decisions and throughout the product lifecycle.

Responsibilities include on-site demonstrations, training, and part evaluations. Travel to customer sites (approximately 20–30%) is involved to help move customers from startup to production.

Qualifications

  • Experience in the machine tool industry, Sales or Service preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills are required.
  • TRUMPF product knowledge preferred.
  • Minimum 2-year technical school degree; 4-year degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the expert for 2D laser technology.
  • Explain machine options and operate TruLaser systems.
  • Independently conduct persuasive customer demonstrations and industry trade shows.
  • Evaluate customer parts and create programs to demonstrate TruLaser.
  • Advise customers on part design changes to define creative solutions.
  • Generate customer time estimates and sample parts.
  • Consult customers on programming issues for existing and potential customers.
  • Conduct operator training and on-site applications support for customers.
  • Travel to customer sites to support with challenging sales or production processes (20-30%).
  • Assist new customers during startup to production phase.

Skills

Excellent communication skills
Machine tool industry experience
TRUMPF product knowledge (preferred)

Education

2-year technical/technical school degree
4-year degree preferred
