Job summary

Kapnick Insurance Group in Michigan is seeking a Large Group Benefit Analyst to partner with major employer clients, diving into claims data to uncover cost drivers and influence smarter benefit design. You will collaborate with Client Executives and internal teams to translate data into actionable recommendations and strategic plans.

You’ll develop client-facing dashboards, present insights to executives, and support renewal strategies with detailed analyses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field preferred.
• 5-7 years of experience in employee group benefits, with experience supporting large group clients.
• Strong understanding of medical claims data, funding arrangements, renewals, and carrier underwriting.
• Experience with claims analysis and reporting tools and the ability to explain data to non-technical audiences.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Participate in client-facing meetings, including renewal reviews and strategic planning discussions.
• Present and explain claims experience, utilization trends, and financial drivers to clients.
• Respond to questions related to claims performance, plan design, and cost containment strategies.
• Support large employer groups across various funding arrangements (fully insured, self-funded, level-funded, RBP, DPC).
• Develop and maintain client-facing dashboards and reports using analytics platforms.
