Amsted Automotive - Piston Pin Facility in Illinois is seeking a full-time Lapper Operator to set up and operate centerless grinders and lap/twin-grip grinding equipment on the 3rd shift. This role is in a manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, dirt, grease, oils, and noise.

You will gauge and monitor production to tight tolerances, perform necessary recordkeeping, and help train other operators. Safety and quality are emphasized, with opportunities to contribute to continuous

Qualifications

• Manufacturing experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
• Familiarity with ISO 14001 work instructions is a plus.
• Experience operating grinders or similar machining equipment is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Operate centerless grinders and related equipment.
• Set up and run twin-grip and lap grinders.
• Maintain gauges and monitor production for tolerances.
• Recordkeeping and paperwork as required.
• Assist and train other operators when needed.
• Perform preventative maintenance on machines as needed.
• Follow safety policies and keep the work area clean.
