Job summary

Hyperion Materials & Technologies Inc. is seeking a Polisher who performs diversified grinding operations to meet drawing requirements for cemented carbide parts used in beverage canning.

The role includes inspection, setup of OD machines, and maintaining quality records in a fast-paced production environment. The candidate must read technical drawings, use micrometers and inspection gear, and work with LEAN-based production management systems.

Qualifications

• Uses micrometers and inspection equipment to verify dimensions.
• Interprets drawings, instructions and process sheets to determine work.
• Reads technical documents and follows written and verbal instructions.
• Must be detail oriented and able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong interpersonal and team-oriented skills; capable of independent work.
• Familiar with production management tools including LEAN and maintenance of throughput/quality records.

Responsibilities

• Interpret drawings and process sheets to determine work.
• Review specifications to determine finished piece dimensions.
• Select proper wheel to achieve desired surface finish.
• Set up and operate OD machines with fixtures and wheels.
• Perform pre, in-process and post-inspection and gauge readings; record data in software.
• Maintain housekeeping and follow standard work and safety procedures.
• Communicate quality concerns to technical support.
