How You Will Create the Extraordinary
- Participates with Landscape Lead in preparing and grading terrain, applying fertilizers, seeding and sodding lawns, and transplanting shrubs and plants.
- Plants lawns and plants and cultivates them.
- Plants new, and repairs established lawns, using seed mixtures and fertilizers recommended for particular soil type and lawn location.
- Locates and plants shrubs, trees, and flowers.
- Mows and trims lawns.
- Trims shrubs and cultivate flower gardens.
- Cleans grounds and ponds on property.
- Waters and nurtures plants, trees, shrubs, and grass.
- Sprays trees and shrubs and applies supplemental liquid and dry nutrients to lawn and trees.
- Digs trenches and installs drain tiles.
- Installs and maintains irrigations.
- Will abide by all safety requirements as outlined in the Safety Manual or as required by individual departments and/or job functions.
- Other duties as assigned.
What You Will Need
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Proficient in English verbal and written
- High school diploma or GED. One to three months related experience and/ or training. Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must have an outgoing, energetic, and enthusiastic attitude. Must be comfortable initiating conversations and a fun environment for guests.
- Will manage risk factors within the company department or division employed, in such ways to eliminate company exposure to insurance claims and legal/ court challenges. Ensure all company activities and operations are carried out in compliance with local, state and federal regulations.
- Flexible to work various shifts, weekends, and holidays if applicable.
- Must be able to lift/ push up to 50 pounds and frequently lift and/ or move up to 100 pounds.
- Ability to bend, stoop, twist, reach, and kneel repetitively. Will be required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
- Must be able to respond calmly and make rational decisions when handling guest and employee conflicts.
- Specific vision abilities such as close, distance, color, depth and ability to adjust focus.
- Ascend and descend stairs and maintain equilibrium for an extended period.
- Must be able to work from a standing position and/or walking motion for extended period.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Able to compute rate, ratios, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Able to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situation.
- Ability to read, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Can write simple correspondence. Able to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
- Responsible for fostering a fun environment.
- Promote a positive influence in the company and company sponsored events. Maintain a professional work environment with management and staff.

- Must have and maintain a valid drivers license.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a license from the Indiana Horse Racing Commission.
