Qualifications

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Proficient in English verbal and written with the ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence and present information clearly.
  • High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure; interpret graphs.
  • Able to follow detailed instructions and handle standard situations.
  • Outgoing, energetic, and enthusiastic attitude; comfortable engaging guests and maintaining professionalism.
  • Flexible with shifts, including weekends, holidays, and long hours as needed.
  • Must foster a fun environment and promote superior customer service; comply with company policies and Indiana Horse Racing Commission Regulations.
  • Regularly push/pull or lift up to 25 pounds and frequently up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Keeps assigned facility clean and orderly by performing duties described.
  • Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, stairways and locker rooms.
  • Sweeps, mops floors; cleans and polishes lighting fixtures and surfaces.
  • Vacuums and shampoos carpets; dusts furniture and equipment; polishes metalwork.
  • Washes walls, windows and doors; empties trash and maintains waste areas.
  • Replenishes bathroom supplies; reports maintenance needs; sets up tables and chairs as requested.
  • Returns supplies to storage and performs routine equipment maintenance.
  • Abides by safety requirements and participates in safety programs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Keeps assigned facility in a clean and orderly condition by performing the following duties:

How You Will Create the Extraordinary
  • Adheres to all safety regulations including, but not limited to, rubber gloves, caution signage and masks.
  • Cleans assigned rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, stairways and locker rooms and other work areas by performing the following function:
  • Sweeps and mops all floors.
  • Cleans and polished lighting fixtures, counter surfaces and trim.
  • Sweeps, scrubs, waxes, and polishes floors.
  • Vacuums, shampoos, and extracts rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture.
  • Dusts furniture and equipment. Polishes metalwork.
  • Washes walls, ceiling, and woodwork. Washes windows, door panels, and sills.
  • Empties wastebaskets, empties and cleans ashtrays.
  • Transports trash and waste to disposal area.
  • Replenishes bathroom supplies on a regular basis when open to the public.
  • Reports to maintenance all needed repairs. Notifies maintenance of replacement light bulbs needed and location.
  • Transports small equipment or tools between departments. Sets up tables and chairs as requested.
  • Returns all supplies and equipment to their proper storage area at the end of each shift.
  • Does routine maintenance on equipment as needed.
  • Will abide by all safety requirements as outlined in the Safety Manual or as required by individual departments and/or job functions.

Other duties as assigned.

What You Will Need

Must be 21 years of age or older.

Proficient in English verbal and written with the ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

  • Must have an outgoing, energetic, and enthusiastic attitude. Must be comfortable initiating conversations and creating a fun environment and maintaining a high level of professionalism with our guests and team members.
  • Flexible with working various shifts, weekends, holidays, and long hours if applicable. Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality/entertainment industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the property.
  • Responsible for fostering a fun environment. Responsible for being gracious to all guests and co-workers. Responsible for promoting a positive influence in the community and participating in company-sponsored events. Enthusiastically supports, actively promotes and demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards and programs. Ensures that behavior and appearance are in compliance with established standards.Complies with Indiana Horse Racing Commission Regulations, approved internal controls, as well as company policies.
  • Maintains a professional work environment with management and staff.
  • Must be able to regularly push/pull or lift up to 25 pounds and frequently push/pull or lift up to 50 pounds.
    • Specific vision abilities such as close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, and frequently required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk or hear, and use hands to fingers to handle or feel, reach with hand and arms, talk or hear and taste and smell.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a license from the Indiana Horse Racing Commission. Will require access to the racing facility.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. There may be exposure to second-hand tobacco smoke, dust, loud noises, bright lights, moving mechanical parts, and extreme cold.
