Job summary

PRIDE Industries in California is seeking a Landscape Lead to oversee installation and maintenance of landscaped areas, roads and parking lots at assigned facilities. Under general supervision you will organize and supervise the work of crew members to keep grounds in safe, pristine condition.

The role requires knowledge of landscaping practices, equipment and safety regulations, plus ability to train staff, schedule tasks, and monitor irrigation.

Qualifications

• At least one year of landscaping experience.
• Ability to train and direct employees to meet departmental goals/objectives.
• Knowledge of landscape maintenance standards and techniques, materials, and safe chemical handling.
• Knowledge of Cal OSHA and OSHA occupational safety regulations.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills in business English.
• Intermediate computer literacy including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
• Demonstrated customer service, problem solving and common sense skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs landscape maintenance: mows lawns, trims hedges, weeds, and maintains flower beds.
• Trains employees; sets up work, directs workflow, and monitors progress to completion.
• Provides instruction on safe use of equipment and chemicals, including fertilizers and pesticides.
• Oversees work activities and ensures safety, timeliness, and adherence to procedures.
• Monitors and maintains irrigation systems for proper vegetation watering.
• Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.
