Job summary
DJ's Landscape Management in Hastings, MN is seeking a Landscape Construction Crew Member to join our outdoor team. You will help transform outdoor spaces, install landscapes for residential, commercial and municipal projects, and work with an experienced crew.
The role is hands‑on and physically demanding, requiring teamwork, willingness to learn, and the ability to follow project plans under the Crew Leader's direction. Competitive pay and growth opportunities are offered.
Qualifications
- Ability to perform physically demanding work outdoors in Minnesota weather.
- Comfortable lifting, carrying and moving 50lbs+ materials throughout the workday.
- Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a crew.
- Willingness to learn new skills and take direction.
- Ability to safely use basic hand and power tools.
- Smartphone required.
Responsibilities
- Assist with landscape construction and installation projects from start to finish.
- Prepare job sites, including grading, excavation, soil preparation and material placement.
- Install trees, shrubs, plants, mulch, edging and other landscape materials.
- Assist with installation of patios, walkways, retaining walls and other hardscape features.
- Operate hand tools and small equipment safely and effectively.
- Load, unload and move soil, rock, mulch, plants and construction materials.
- Assist with drainage, irrigation and other landscape installation projects.
- Maintain a clean, organized and safe job site.
- Follow project plans, specifications and direction from the Crew Leader.
- Work safely around heavy equipment and moving machinery.
- Provide a professional experience for customers and coworkers.

We’re looking for a Landscape Construction Crew Member who takes pride in quality work, enjoys working as part of a team, and is ready to learn and grow in the landscape construction industry.
This is a hands‑on position where no two days are exactly alike. You’ll work alongside an experienced crew installing and building outdoor environments for residential, commercial, and municipal customers.

- Valid driver's license
- Previous landscape construction, hardscape, excavation or outdoor construction experience is preferred
- Experience operating skid steers, mini excavators, compactors or other equipment is a plus
- Smartphone required
- Competitive base pay: $20 - $25 per hour, based on experience
- The opportunity to earn a Commercial Pesticide Applicator License (Category A & E) with all expenses covered
