Job summary

Waste Pro seeks a Landfill Spotter/Laborer to ensure proper placement and sorting of materials at the Greenpoint landfill. You will guide customers to safely dump debris and help keep operations running smoothly.

Key duties include sorting waste, pulling recyclables, and adhering to SOPs. This role requires teamwork and a commitment to safety, with training provided to stay current on company procedures.

Qualifications

• Follow safe operating practices on site.
• Interpersonal skills supporting good customer service.
• Ability to work effectively in a team.
• Ability to read, write and comprehend daily reports.

Responsibilities

• Inspect materials and sort items for prep.
• Direct customers where to dump debris safely.
• Pull metal and lead items from piles.
• Monitor pile size and ensure compliance with SOPs.
• Remove recyclable items not allowed for disposal.
• Attend safety/operations meetings weekly or monthly.
• Follow SOPs for operating and maintaining equipment.
• Report any worker-public safety factors.
• Participate in training courses as assigned.
• Keep up to date on company technology used.
