Waste Pro seeks a Landfill Spotter/Laborer to ensure proper placement and sorting of materials at the Greenpoint landfill. You will guide customers to safely dump debris and help keep operations running smoothly.

Responsibilities

• Attend safety/operations meetings weekly or monthly.
• Follow SOPs for operating and maintaining equipment.
• Report any worker-public safety factors.
• Participate in training courses as assigned.
• Keep up to date on company technology used.

SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Landfill Spotter is responsible for ensuring proper placement and sorting of materials and guiding customers safely in the landfill.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Inspect materials and sort items or materials into piles prepping for the Equipment Operator.
• Direct Customers where to safely dump their debris at the landfill.
• Pull metal and lead items from piles being disposed.
• Monitor piles to ensure they are the appropriate size.
• Remove items that can be recycled and are not acceptable for disposal at the landfill.
• Follow appropriate standard operating procedures (SOPs) as guideline for operating and maintaining equipment.
• Report any worker-public safety factors.
• Attend weekly/monthly safety/operations meetings.

OTHER JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Employees in this job classification must attend and participate in corporation sponsored training courses as assigned.
• Employees in this job classification are responsible for keeping up to date on current technology, as job appropriate, being used by Waste Pro.
• Any additional job duties that may be assigned by the Supervisor.
