Job summary

The City of Glasgow, Kentucky is seeking a Landfill Laborer to perform routine and semi-skilled work in the collection and processing of recyclable materials, operation of vehicles and equipment, and grounds maintenance at the landfill.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and a valid driver's license; background and drug screenings will be conducted. CDL may be required for certain vehicle operation. This is an outdoor, labor-intensive position with safety procedures emphasized.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Experience performing manual labor, grounds maintenance, equipment operation, recycling, sanitation, or similar work preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drives City vehicles to collect, transport, and unload recyclable materials.
• Operates forklifts, uni-loaders, balers, and other assigned vehicles and equipment.
• Sorts, handles, loads, unloads, and processes recyclable materials as assigned.
• Performs grounds maintenance, including mowing, weed eating, litter pickup, and related work.
• Performs general manual labor associated with landfill and recycling operations.
• Assists with maintaining work areas, equipment, and landfill property in a clean and orderly condition.
• Employees possessing the required Commercial Driver's License may occasionally operate CDL-required vehicles, primarily on landfill property and for limited local travel.
• Performs related duties as assigned
