Job summary

The City of Glasgow is seeking a Landfill Laborer to perform routine and semi-skilled work related to the collection and processing of recyclable materials, operation of vehicles and equipment, grounds maintenance, and general landfill operations. This on-site role requires the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and follow safety procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Experience performing manual labor, grounds maintenance, equipment operation, recycling, sanitation, or similar work preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drives City vehicles to collect, transport, and unload recyclable materials.
• Operates forklifts, uni-loaders, balers, and other assigned vehicles and equipment.
• Sorts, handles, loads, unloads, and processes recyclable materials as assigned.
• Performs grounds maintenance, including mowing, weed eating, litter pickup, and related work.
• Performs general manual labor associated with landfill and recycling operations.
• Assists with maintaining work areas, equipment, and landfill property in a clean and orderly condition.
• CDL-equipped employees may occasionally operate CDL-required vehicles on landfill property.
• Performs related duties as assigned.
