Job summary

Qualifications

• Requires high school education with specialized training and work experience.
• Usually 1–2 years in a similar position; apprenticeship/internship preferred.
• Must possess a Commercial Driver's License or obtain within six weeks.
• Must supervise state inmate labor and pass DOC 3-day certification within six months.

Responsibilities

• Operate landfill in compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Establish vegetation on slopes and disturbed areas.
• Install and maintain erosion and sedimentation control structures.
• Drive dump truck and operates hydroseeder.
• Inspect loads and direct to disposal area.
• Assist customers with questions; maintain radio contact with landfill personnel.
• Make daily bank deposits; maintain division inventory of parts and supplies.
• Prepare daily duty assignments for inmates; transport inmates to/from work sites and Muscogee County Prison.
• Enforce environmental regulations; complete inspections and required reports.
• Operate bulldozer.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
