Job summary

Republic Services is seeking an Operator – Heavy Equipment to safely operate at a recycling center, landfill or transfer station, handling waste and soil through loading, spreading, covering and compacting. The role requires prior heavy equipment experience and a commitment to safety, with duties spanning inspections, reporting and maintenance support.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspection of the equipment to ensure safety and readiness.
• Safely operate equipment such as forklift, excavator, bulldozer, front-end loader and other equipment.
• Monitor waste for evidence of unacceptable waste in materials.
• Perform minor service on equipment and document reports; report repairs as needed.
• Complete Equipment Condition Reports and other required documentation.
• Follow all safety policies and keep the shop clean and organized.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
