Job summary

Republic Services is seeking an Operator – Heavy Equipment to safely operate heavy equipment at a recycling center, landfill, or transfer station. You will transfer, spread, cover, load, and compact waste or soil while adhering to safety standards.

The role requires prior heavy equipment operation experience and familiarity with OSHA-regulated sites. The position emphasizes safety, efficiency, and accurate reporting, with opportunities for growth within the company.

Qualifications

• Two years of prior related experience in heavy equipment operation.
• One year of prior experience working at sites regulated by OSHA.
• Ability to adhere to company safety policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspections of equipment according to company policy.
• Safely operate equipment such as forklift, excavator, bulldozer, and front-end loader following safety standards.
• Monitor waste for unacceptable materials.
• Maintain equipment and site readiness to minimize downtime.
• Perform and document minor equipment service; refer complex repairs to Maintenance Shop.
• Complete Equipment Condition Reports and notify supervisor of needed repairs.
• Keep the shop clean, serviced and stored at end of shift.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
