Job summary

Republic Services seeks an Operations Supervisor – Landfill to lead a team of operators and laborers in a busy landfill. You will ensure fill sequencing, density goals, and permit compliance while collaborating with the Operations Manager to achieve safety, customer experience and budget targets.

The role requires strong leadership, problem-solving and communication skills, with a focus on safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Able to direct large staff and drive safety and efficiency in landfill operations.
• Demonstrated problem-solving, analytical, critical-thinking and decision-making skills.
• Collaborative, builds and works with teams; ethical behavior and strong leadership.
• Experience in labor relations; regulatory awareness and state certification as required.
• Minimum of 1 year of lead or supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide safety leadership and ensure accident prevention programs are effective.
• Deliver excellent customer experience and respond to service requests or equipment issues with timely communication.
• Set productivity goals, enforce operating standards, and manage labor hours and disposal costs to meet plans.
• Engage and coach employees to foster engagement and readiness for advancement.
