Liberty Waste Solutions – Asheboro Landfill is seeking a dependable Heavy Equipment Operator / Backup Scale House Operator to support daily operations with a strong emphasis on safety and regulatory compliance. The role covers waste placement, compaction, grading, and road maintenance, plus backup scale house coverage as needed.

Ideal candidates will have 1+ year in heavy equipment operation, experience with dozers/excavators/wheel loaders, and the ability to manage scale transactions while

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of heavy equipment operating experience required.
• Experience with landfill operations including waste placement and compaction preferred.
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn scale software.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to work outdoors in varying weather.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate equipment such as landfill compactors, bulldozers, excavators, wheel loaders and trucks as trained.
• Place, spread, and compact waste according to procedures to optimize airspace.
• Maintain a controlled working face and safe traffic flow around operating areas.
• Back up scale house operations: weigh loads, classify materials, and record transactions.
• Adhere to safety, PPE, and environmental permits; report hazards and incidents.
