Job summary

Liberty Waste Solutions, LLC is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator for our Rockingham Landfill in Apex, NC. The role focuses on safe operation of heavy machinery to support daily landfill operations and ensure environmental compliance.

Responsibilities include waste placement, grading, cover applications, and maintenance of access roads. Candidates must be able to work outdoors in all weather and adhere to safety policies and permits.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years of heavy equipment operating experience in landfill operations or similar heavy industrial environments.
• Experience operating dozers, excavators, wheel loaders, landfill compactors, or similar equipment.
• Strong safety and environmental compliance understanding.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and SOPs.
• Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions and terrain.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate equipment including landfill compactors, dozers, excavators, wheel loaders, haul trucks, and other assigned gear.
• Perform waste placement, spreading, and compaction per established procedures.
• Maintain proper lift thickness and compaction to optimize landfill airspace.
• Assist with maintaining a controlled and properly sized working face.
• Apply and maintain daily and intermediate cover materials as directed.
• Grade and maintain haul roads, working areas, and drainage features.
