Job summary

Republic Services, Inc. is seeking an Operator – Heavy Equipment to safely operate heavy machinery at a recycling center, landfill, or transfer station. The role involves pre/post inspections, equipment handling, and ensuring safe, efficient waste processing.

You will monitor for unacceptable waste, complete required reports, and adhere to all safety policies. The ideal candidate has prior heavy equipment experience and a strong commitment to reliability and customer service.

Qualifications

• Two years of prior related experience in heavy equipment operation.
• One year of prior experience working at sites regulated by OSHA.
• Good customer services skills to meet and exceed customer expectations.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspections of equipment according to Company policy.
• Safely operate heavy equipment (forklift, excavator, bulldozer, front-end loader, and others) using proper safety standards.
• Monitor waste for evidence of unacceptable material and ensure equipment readiness to minimize downtime.
• Complete Equipment Condition Reports and report needed repairs to supervisor.
• Keep shop clean and properly stored at the end of each shift and perform other duties as assigned.
