Job summary

Republic Services, Inc. is seeking an Operator – Heavy Equipment to safely operate at a recycling center, landfill or transfer station. You will perform inspections, operate multiple heavy machines, monitor waste quality and ensure equipment readiness while following safety policies and procedures.

The role includes completing reports, maintaining a clean work area, and performing basic servicing. A focus on safety, reliability and teamwork will help ensure efficient daily operations and quality

Qualifications

• Two years of related experience operating heavy equipment.
• One year of experience at sites regulated by OSHA.
• Commitment to safety and professional conduct.
• Adherence to company policies and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspections of equipment per policy, ensuring windows, lights, mirrors and rear view camera are clean.
• Safely operate heavy equipment (forklift, excavator, bulldozer, front-end loader) per safety standards.
• Monitor waste for evidence of unacceptable materials.
• Monitor equipment condition to minimize downtime; clean tracks or wheels as needed.
• Perform minor servicing and report repairs to the Maintenance Shop.
• Complete Equipment Condition Reports and other required reports.
• Keep shop clean, serviced and stored after each shift.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
