Job summary

Republic Services is seeking an Operator – Heavy Equipment to safely operate heavy machinery at recycling centers, landfills, or transfer stations. You will be responsible for transferring, spreading, loading, and compacting waste or soil while adhering to safety standards.

The role requires prior heavy equipment experience and familiarity with OSHA regulations. Daily duties include inspections, routine maintenance, and maintaining a clean work area.

Qualifications

• Two years of prior related experience in heavy equipment operation.
• One year of prior experience working at sites regulated by OSHA.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment safely at a recycling center, landfill or transfer station.
• Perform pre- and post-operation inspections to ensure safety and cleanliness of equipment.
• Monitor waste quality and equipment condition to minimize downtime.
• Perform minor maintenance and document issues for repairs.
• Complete equipment condition reports and report needed repairs.
