Job summary

Republic Services is seeking an Operator - Heavy Equipment to safely operate heavy equipment at recycling centers, landfills, or transfer stations. The role focuses on transferring, spreading, covering, loading, and compacting waste or soil efficiently and safely.

The position requires performing pre- and post-operation inspections, monitoring waste quality, and ensuring equipment is ready with routine maintenance. Health and safety procedures are integral to daily duties.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspections of equipment to ensure safety and cleanliness.
• Safely operate heavy equipment such as forklift, excavator, bulldozer, and front-end loader.
• Monitor waste for unacceptable materials and ensure equipment readiness to minimize downtime.
• Perform and document minor maintenance; report complex issues to Maintenance Shop.
• Complete Equipment Condition Reports and other necessary documentation; report repairs to supervisor.
