Job summary

Republic Services seeks an Operator – Heavy Equipment in Kentucky to safely operate heavy equipment at a recycling center, landfill, or transfer station, transferring, spreading, covering, loading and compacting waste or soil efficiently and safely.

The role requires performing inspections, monitoring equipment, completing reports, and adhering to safety policies to support smooth site operations and compliance with company standards.

Qualifications

• Two years of prior related experience in heavy equipment operation.
• One year of prior experience working at sites regulated by OSHA.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspection of the equipment and ensure safety standards are followed.
• Safely operate equipment such as forklift, excavator, bulldozer, and front-end loader.
• Monitor waste for unacceptable materials and ensure equipment readiness to minimize downtime.
• Conduct minor servicing and document conditions; refer major repairs to Maintenance Shop.
• Complete Equipment Condition Reports and report repairs to supervisor.
• Follow all required safety policies and keep the shop clean and organized.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
