Job summary

Republic Services, Inc. is seeking a Landfill Heavy Equipment Operator in Frankfort, IN.

The role involves safely operating heavy equipment at a recycling center, landfill or transfer station to transfer, spread, cover, load and compact waste or soil efficiently. You will perform pre- and post-operation inspections, monitor waste quality, carry out minor maintenance and complete required reports, while maintaining strict safety standards and a clean work area.

Qualifications

• Two years of prior related experience in heavy equipment operation.
• One year of prior experience working at sites regulated by OSHA.
• Candidates must meet safety and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspections per policy.
• Safely operate heavy equipment (forklift, excavator, bulldozer, loaders).
• Monitor waste for unacceptable materials.
• Perform minor service and report major repairs to maintenance.
• Complete Equipment Condition Reports and other required reports.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures; keep shop clean and organized.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
