Job summary

Republic Services is seeking an Operator – Heavy Equipment to safely operate forklifts, excavators, bulldozers and loaders at our recycling center or landfill. You will perform pre- and post-operation checks and report any maintenance needs, while monitoring material quality and maintaining a clean, safe work area.

The role requires 2 years of heavy equipment experience and OSHA site experience, with a strong emphasis on safety, reliability, and customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Two years of prior related experience in heavy equipment operation.
• OSHA site experience
• Ability to work safely and follow company safety policies.
• Proven reliability and punctuality in shift work.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment at recycling center, landfill or transfer station.
• Perform pre- and post-operation inspections and document issues.
• Monitor waste streams for unacceptable materials.
• Perform minor equipment service and refer major issues to Maintenance Shop.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area at shift end.
• Complete required reports and adhere to safety procedures.
