Casella Waste Systems, Inc. is seeking a Landfill Environmental Technician to monitor water, leachate and gas systems at our New York facility.

You will apply environmental and engineering principles to modify, test, regulate, and operate equipment ensuring daily operations meet federal and state guidelines. The role involves maintenance, data collection, sampling, and ensuring compliance with NY DEC and USEPA rules.

Competenze

• High School or Technical School Education required.
• 1 year of experience with energy recovery systems or similar equipment.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and stand for up to 8 hours.
• Ability to work under varying weather conditions.
• Associates or Bachelors in Environmental Science/Engineering/Geological Sciences preferred.

Mansioni

• Performs maintenance and repairs of landfill equipment and control systems.
• Completes daily reports on equipment readings, data collection, and field observations.
• Performs routine sampling and analysis of environmental conditions at the landfill.
• Develops understanding of NY DEC and USEPA rules and regulations related to landfill operations.
• Performs repairs and preventative maintenance on gas and leachate collection equipment.
• Participates in health and safety meetings and training.
