Job summary

Republic Services is seeking an Environmental Technician to operate and maintain landfill gas extraction and leachate collection systems at our landfills. You will monitor systems, ensure safety compliance, and adhere to federal and state requirements.

The role emphasizes environmental sampling, data reporting, and safe, efficient work practices while supporting regulatory compliance and company safety standards.

Qualifications

• OSHA-regulated site experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate operating issues to management.
• Commitment to safety and accuracy in data collection.

Responsibilities

• Conduct environmental sampling including groundwater, surface water, air quality and gas migration.
• Measure and record gas levels in landfill wells and boundary probes to ensure compliance.
• Troubleshoot and correct landfill gas extraction systems; report complex issues to management.
• Manage leachate systems to maintain safe operation per regulations.
• Perform landfill surveying as required.
• Prepare and submit reporting data for gas extraction and leachate systems.
• Adhere to safety regulations and company policies in all duties.
